Call from China to US, VOIP??

Hi All,

New to this whole Andoid/International calling? Can someone please suggest a step-by-step app so I can make calls FROM China to the US without Verizon raoming charges? will it even work? or is all lines of communication off? What about SMS? what app should I use for that if voice is not an option?

Get an app called Nimbuzz. My girlfriend and I used it to talk to each other over wifi while she was in Spain earlier this month. If both sides are on wifi, it works pretty well, and it's free. All you need is a Skype account. If you've got one, just enter your user name and password in Nimbuzz, and you're good to go. You can also chat using Nimbuzz.

That won't work, VZW has locked up the Skype Mobile app to the VZW network only, it pops a dialog box when I tried it on wifi :

Skype mobile does not currently work on WiFi and requires switching to a Verizon Wireless data network connection. This may affect other apps using a WiFi connection.

Then there are two buttons : [Turn off WiFi] [Exit]

Wow, I never tried it on wifi. That makes it pretty worthless.
