Call from Radio Shack - Said they MAY Not Have the EVO on the 4th

I was the first person to pre-order at my closest Radio Shack. Promised June 4th Delivery at the time, said he would open at 9:00 AM.

Just got a call from the manager, said he got an email from Sprint telling him that they MAY not get their phones on the 4th.

He did not say why, he didn't know, and was not sure when he would get them, if not the 4th.

Luckily, I already have my phone, or I would have been one upset puppy.

wow this makes me worry now. I also pre-ordered from RS first one to do so at the store as well. If they don't get it in on the 4th they are going to give me more than a $20 credit on accessories i know that.
 
Figures, I did mine through Radio Shack too. I'll have to check my voicemail later, since I don't have a signal at work.

That could be just for your local RS. Hope Sprint have enough units to ship / sell and does not repeat the pre mistake.
 
There advertising June 4th for the release. Why would they not have them ready to go? Why would Sprint be emailing a random manager, I'm sure it would be sent to a district manager or supervisor. Sounds fishy and not right to me. I have a pre-order at both best buy and the Shack. And I would bet they both have them ready to go for the 4th. Sprint has a lot riding on this release, there not going to bobble a giant release like this, especially after they just gave 5000 free EVO'S out at Google IO....

And by the way where did u get your EVO from?
 
Well its only a phone. They will ship sooner or later im not worried. I would however expect them to give back the $50 paid for the gift card deposit and some additional compensation just on the fact they didn't hold up to there end of the deal.
 
If this was actually true and not some troll BS, that would be great since we would get newer builds of the product :D. But if they had an extra 5000 to give out at Google I/O, chances are that there is a HUGE supply of these phones out there.

Well since some of you want to be jerks and just assume someone is making up rumors, you are free to call the Radio Shack yourself to verify.

If my Radio Shack doesn't have mine bright and early on the 4th, at the latest, then I will demand a full refund for my 4 pre orders and i will then go to the Sprint store and get them there.

I haven't had any calls from Radio Shack though, so hopefully I'm good.
