Some of you probably already know this . You can enhance your call quality by changing the codec.

Dial
##7764726. (Spells program)

Go to "Nam cdma setting"
Scroll down to "preferred voice service" (there's 3 entries)
Change them all to evrc-b

Hit menu and commit changes.

I testing this today and I can hear people better. I'm told i sound good b4 but better now.

I don't know if this negatively effects battery life.

So this is pretty much the same fix that was for the Droid X and incredible? I remember seeing something like this on XDA and doing it last yr.

So I did this a few days ago. All of the sudden my 4g was lost. I am by no means an android, or cell phone for that matter, geek but when I switched back today my 4g was back? Has anyone else noticed this or am I just an idiot?

There's an app on the market something along the lines of 4G switch or 4G on/off. download and install that

I made this change on the 1st and have not had any adverse affects. I should note that I was not having any problems with call quality before this change and did not really notice a difference after the change. I did it based on curiosity. As for battery affect, not sure... I've been using the phone more and more this past week so its hard to judge if this change had an affect on it.

Best thing to do is to try it out. You can always change back to the original setting.

I did this...and I had a popping sound while calling others when it was ringing on their end. I never had a problem with call clarity or volume, but of course...who isn't up for something better?

I changed it back in less than 10 minutes.

I didn't see any benefit by it.
