Help Call sound quality poor

I've had a few people in the last few days say that they can hardly hear me at their end and when they can it's a fairly tinny noise at best

Does the SGS2 have known call sound quality issues that I need to know about? If so, are they fixable?

The in-call sound quality at my end is fine; no issues at all. Just appears to be with the receiver end

On the bottom of the phone, look on the right hand side of the mini-USB port. There's a hole that leads to the microphone there; is it clean? If not, you might want to try unblocking it.

I take it there's no water damage to the phone?

I have very good phone quality on my phone. Way better then my old Desire.
