Help call volume problem

Recently i have a problem with my Samsung Admire,everytime i place a call i have to connect my headset so the caller can hear me,if i dont have it on the volume of the call is very low and the caller can barely hear me.
Any way that i can fix this problem with out taking it back to the store.
I have a rooted phone.

Unfortunately , this is one of the low points of the admire . The reviews all bash the call quality for not being that high ... i notice it too , especially out in the open .
