Help Caller ID - Hide number

I'm trying to work out what happens when I have the caller id set with 'Hide number'.

If I sent a text would the person receiving the text be able to reply?

I've never thought to try it. However, I don't see why they wouldn't, especially if they already have your number in their contacts.

Pretty sure that sms uses a different protocl than callerID, so the two aren't related in any way at all

Didn't think about it being on a different protocol. That'd for in with my assumption though that the receiver would still be able to reply.

Hi Kraftwork, I combined both your threads about texting with a hidden caller ID

I don't know the answer, but do you have a friend you could test it with? Have them remove you from their contacts, hide your ID, send them a text, then see if they can reply.
