Calling from bluetooth

I'm having a problem with Bluetooth. When I make a call on my Nexus 4 through my Jawbone, it will initiate a call through the voice dialer. However, I don't hear a thing such ad the phone ringing or when they pick up. It's like a dead call. When they call me back it works fine.

I don't use a jawbone, but i have never had that happen with my car's Bluetooth. How are you placing the call? Does it go through normally as if you weren't connected to Bluetooth?
