Root calling my carrier about 3g

I have virgin mobile and since I got the phone yesterday 3g hasn't been working. Now I already rooted and flashed it to cm7. If I call them will that be okay or will I have to do a factory reset and go back to stock?

They might have you punch some numbers in your fail pad and I remember seeing somewhere the codes don't work except on stock...... correct me if I'm wrong

The numbers should work on other ROMs...

Most codes don't work on anything but the stock rom. I'm not even sure if they would work on the stock based roms.

go to stock and save yourself any headache.

if you made a nandroid backup, going back to stock will take you all of 2-3 minutes.

but apparently nothing is newb proof, I am getting the MD5 mismatch error when I try to restore back to stock.

Make sure that there are no spaces in the file name.
