Calling problems

Hey guys, redownloaded the .zip file and reinstalled it again and i've gone 18 hours without it happening. Before I did this, it happened every couple hours. I think there is some kind of bug when it installs...

Reinstalling to clear up glitches is common with software, even computer operating systems, I've noticed for quite some time.

There are a lot of bits and bytes streaming back and forth in the download and the installation processes; it would not take too many wayward electrons to throw a monkey wrench into the works. ;)

i'll have to try this when I get home tonight

You may of went 18 hours, but how many calls have you made? Ive also found sometimes when it happens and u check if the phones working or not by upping the volume, it shows media volume instead of ringer. Only sometimes though,

I re-flashed my phone with 2.1 v2 and so far so good....

No Task Killer
No Swype

Made at least 20 calls since this and have had ZERO problems

perhaps there was something to that no task killer/swype thing

Hopefully that fixes it for you, NPH.

For me, I never had a task killer or Swype, so, I don't know what is causing it to happen on my phone.

been almost two complete days since re-installing the .zip file and i have not had the issue happen again. It's been a hell of a lot less frustrating.:)

I haven't bugged for 2 days now. Only thing different I'm doing is I don't have the volume on high and I'm using physical end call button not touchscreen one

yeah, for those of you that are having problems with your 2.1 v2... I suggest re-downloading it and re-installing it....

since I've done this, I have yet to run into a single bug or problem (knock on wood)

Honestly, it can't hurt to try

Loosing all your apps and settings actually does hurt, ive done what i said above and so far no problems for 2 days.

My droid lost the ability to hear calls the other day. I tried everything, even upgrading 2.1 v1 to v2. The only thing that cured it was Resetting to factory settings.

even after rebooting the phone you weren't able to make/receive phone calls?

That stinks.

I have been using the actualy end/pwr key to terminate phone calls and I have not had an issue since.

Nope. I tried everything: soft boot, hard boot, disabling/enabling bluetooth, adjusting volume settings and even a v2 update. The only thing that got it working again was resetting to factory settings.

Thanks for the tip on the button to end calls. Sp far I have been using the touch scree with no problems.
