Help Calls hang-up problem

sipotat

Lurker
Hi,
Just got a new HTC wildfire with Android 2.2 and my calls keep getting hanged-up. I'm getting the feeling that for some reason its being hanged-up by my cheek pressing the hang-up button.
Shouldn't the phone make sure it doesn't happen? Any solution to that?

Thanks,
Sipo.

Welcome to the forums, sipotat.

Your device may have a proximity sensor issue. Usually it's the other way around, that is, the screen becomes blank and inactive at unexplained times because the proximity sensor area has become obscured with dust, grease or whatever and just needs to be wiped off to restore functionality.

But it your case it's probably not sensing being held to your head during a call, so it gets hung up, as you say.

I'd try first a reboot, then a live battery pull if the reboot did not remedy the issue, then a factory data reset if those first two things had no effect.

Please post back your results.

I've had the same, but only since upgrading to Froyo 2.2

Just found the thread after few days of imponderable annoyance. Yesterday I had to make 4 actual calls in order to complete a 10-12 minute conversation on the phone.

I'll try factory reset.
