Help calls randomly ?? *^&*&%%$

about twice a day, i look down and my phone is dialing someone...

How the &^% can i stop this? I hate this s**&...

Call Confirm. It's free in the market. It adds another required screen press before the device will dial out. This was very common for me (and other people I know) before I started using this app. Try it.
 
mine does it when I'm plugged into my truck's aux-in. It will randomly redial my last call, start voice dialer or start my next track in subsonic.

I think I've noticed it only does it when the headset icon is up on the status bar. normally it should be a headphone icon up there when using a aux line in there but sometimes it gets confused i guess.
 
Sounds to me like the exact same problem some of the Palm Centros had. The button on the headset is the sleeve of the headphone plug. When you press the button it shorts the mic input which is the second contact from the bottom. If the contacts in the phone get shorted in the same way from a misaligned plug it will start a call. I had this problem with my Centro. Here are the pinouts of the HTC Hero, which I am guessing is the same pinout diagram for the Inspire.

If I am wrong about any of this please let me know. I am making an educated guess here, not trying to state a fact.

good info. Thanks guy. I am going to store today to get a different phone becuz my husband's 2 day old phone spent all night calling his cousin. definately something wrong there.

thanks! downloaded this.

i accidentally dialed my husband's phone at 3am the other night.
i think i bumped/grazed the screen when it happened. sucks for him coz it woke him up.
