CallTrack-show call history in calendar-AWESOME

Just letting everyone know of this gem. CallTrack.
It shows your call history (missed, incoming, outgoing) in your calendar. It also shows the duration of the calls. Add a new calendar, so the call history does not clutter up your main Gmail calendar.

Here's how:
1. Install CallTrack on your Android device.
2. Go to your Google calendar on your computer's browser.
3. Under the "My Calendars" tab, click add. Simply name your new calendar "Call Log," or something of the sort.
4. On your phone: make sure that your calendar is synced to provide the newly added calendar ("Call Log"). Open the CallTrack app, check-on "Enable CallTrack", click the Calendar button in that menu, then choose the new "Call Log" calendar as the calendar to receive the call history. Enable/disable what calls you want to be logged (incoming, outgoing, missed)
5. WARNING: if you press menu>sync entire call log, it will take FOREVER to sync your past calls to your calendar. So think about that before you click this.

Now, you can show or hide your "Call Log" calendar by opening your calendar app, MENU>MORE>CALENDARS>check/uncheck "Call Log."
And in your Google Calendar on your computer, you will have your call history matching your phone, complete with call duration and phone numbers.

The app is very useful in my opinion, to be able to see when a client or colleague called, and how that correlates to meetings and other planned events throughout the day. Some people might say it is pointless, but I beg to differ.

I've been using this app for quite a while, and it's a great reference tool for past calls. Much easier and informative than looking through the standard call logs as they are displayed out of the box.

Another useful feature: If, for some reason, you leave your phone at home, you can check your call log on a computer with your Google Calendar. See who's trying to reach you.

Are you telling the app to sync it to that calendar? You can set that in the menu options. I used a separate Google calendar, so as not to clutter up my normal Exchange calendar. Then I added that Google calendar to Outlook and can turn it on and off at will.

thanks. so I hit "sync entire call log" in the CallTrack menu. Do I have to do that only once and after that it syncs automatically?
btw, I'm only seeing today's log, but on the phone I see the whole month

If you want to see the past log entries, in the CallTrack app, click menu>sync entire call log. You do NOT need to do this for the app to log any future calls. "sync entire call log" will just add the PAST calls to your calendar.

Was hanging with with a co-worker and some clients when this came in.

You just changed my life AND sold 3 EVOs!!

PS - Can also share as vCalender without ShootMe - El Sweeto Grande!!

You can EDIT the call log for details by Add Event when viewing. I mailed one of my call logs to them using ShootMe - it was all over except for the shouting!!!

I guess give it some time. same thing happened to me when I synced but now, few hours later I checked my calendar on the PC and everything's on there

You're not doing anything wrong. If you pressed "sync entire call log," then it will work, it just takes FOREVER! You should notice your sync icon on top of you home screen while it's doing this.

Yes, only seconds, as far as I know. But, with a little math, I think you could figure it out.

The syncing notification is continually running (after I did a full sync and it completed), and I'm concerned what impact this may have on battery life.

One little glitch I'm running into is that the times of the phone calls on my google calender are 3 hours behind the actual time. I suspected that there was a timezone issue with the google calender, but I can't find any options. Anybody else seeing this or know what the problem is?

I suspect you're on Eastern Time.

Go to your GMail account on the web - choose Calendars. Next, look down until you find Settings under "My calendars" - go to that, then the General tab, and set your time zone (remember to save).

I can't say if those instructions have anything browser-specific in them, so follow your nose.

I don't see a sync time option, however, I suspect that's because it doesn't need one. There's no need for it to sync continuously, or even periodically. Unless you make or receive a call, there's no data to sync.

I suspect it just wakes up to send call details after a call is made/received and just sleeps the rest of the time. Sleeping apps use no battery. It's just loaded and waiting for Android to notify it of an event it cares about (calls.)
