Help Camcorder Crashes

The camcorder app on my Atrix crashes when I hit the record button. I've tried all of the resolutions and pointing it to my SD and internal memory...no luck.

More Info: I have also tried restarting it and shutting it completely down and pulling the battery. I also noticed that if I switch from the back camera to the front camera that the app doesn't crash but it doesn't do anything.

I had this exact problem on my Atrix and it started happening after I was swapping the micro SD card while moving files from an older card from my old phone.

To resolve it, try this: (worked flawlessly for me)

1. Ensure your camcorder app is set up to record to the micro SD card
2. Exit out of the camcorder / video recording software
3. Remove your existing micro SD card (it is hot-swappable, no need to turn off the phone)
4. Launch the 'Camcorder' app and it will now detect that your micro SD card does not exist and prompt you to record to the phone's internal memory. (Agree to this and continue)
5. The 'Camcorder' app will now record video successfully. You can now re-insert your micro SD card and change the settings back to use it instead of internal memory.

I figured out my problem and I thought I posted it here. I use the imo IM client and when it's running the camcorder crashes. So, I close it and then it works properly.

Thanks for posting the solution. Would never have thought it'd be the IMO app Just out of curiosity, how did you find out that IMO was the culprit? Also, have you contacted the dev about this issue?

I figured out my problem and I thought I posted it here. I use the imo IM client and when it's running the camcorder crashes. So, I close it and then it works properly.

i uninstalled teh crap...thanx for the heads up, because of that stupid app, i did not get to record the new gt r skyline i got to ride in.

I really did like imo.im as a mass messaging app. Had to uninstall it as it was unusable. I was wondering what mass messaging app are you using? Something similar to imo.im in efficiency and power consumption. I emailed the imo.im support team but have not heard back from them I've used both IM+ and Meebo IM on my Nexus One last year and didn't like it. I remember both used up more battery than imo.im. I didn't bother with ebuddy as it requires you to sign up with them Nimbuzz doesn't have a very good review, with half of the reviewers complaining.
