Help Camcorder error?

I am having a weird issue with the camcorder with this phone, and I believe it's only post Gingerbread update. If I start recording while holding the phone sideways, it records perfectly. However if I start recording holding the phone vertically, the video comes up small. Below is a video I recorded that shows what I mean.

Is there a way to stop this from ever happening, is anybody else having this issue too? I love the phone post-update, but this is quite annoying, to have to remember to record a certain way...

Even if people don't have a solution, but are at least having the same problems, please post, so that I know I'm not the only one .

Well at least I know it's not just me. What's worse other than the orientation of the video, is that if I put the video into my computer, it usually gives me an error to view it in any app other than quicktime. Anyone else with this error, or better yet a solution?
