Came back from 4S

I had a Galaxy S2 that I liked, but wanted to see what the iPhone 4S was all about. I couldn't have been more disappointed with the 4S, battery life was awful, and after using the S2 for a few weeks I got so used to the larger screen. The battery on the S2 is far better in my opinion than the 4S in areas with a poor signal and in real life experience, the S2 is a lot faster than the 4S in every aspect.

How much longer does the s2 last compared to the 4s?

At this point in the day with the 4S i would have 50% left(off charger for 6.5 hours). With more usage on the SGSII i have 75% left mainly because the SGSII gets a better signal.

I got 38 hours out of my GS2 with generally the same usage as my 4 non S. With the 4 I typically had 24 hours or less. IMHO my GS2 has a better battery life than my old 4. FWIW.

Oh, and welcome back!

Wow. You guys are really getting better battery times than I am. I will be at 90% after a 30 minute drive to work. That is without using navigation, although the GPS is on.

One question - I have a desktop dock. Once the S2 is at 100% charged, it beeps and says to unplug the charger. That sort of defeats the purpose of a desktop cradle/charger. Does anyone think it will hurt anything to leave it on the dock?

Yeah, I'm out of juice MUUUCH faster. IMO, there's nothing wrong living it plugged. It won't charge if it's already fully charged. That's all the "harm".

I went from 7:30am to about 9:00pm yesterday with a lot of use (because it was my first day of having it and I had to set up my launcher and icons and such). Pretty impressed for the size of the screen. I leave 4g off, wifi on while in a wifi area, and gps off (unless being used). I came from an iPhone 4, which always gave me decent battery life but isn't nearly as fun.
