Help Camera and Video

I have an Unrooted Droid Incredible 1 running 2.3.4.
For the longest time I can't send video via MMS Text any longer than about 5 to <10 seconds long.

I have the following settings for my video:
Resolution- CIF 352x288. Due to setting it any higher increases resolution and would definetly not allow me to send video.
Storage to storage card.
Encoding type- MPEG4
Recording length- No Limit

Under my Messaging settings I have Size Limit set to 1.23M, which is the max setting on my phone. I thought there used to be a "No Size Limit" option, but guess that changed, or I could be mistaken.

I also can only send MAYBE 3 pictures per MMS message.
My settings for my camera are:
Resolution- 5MP
Quality- Fine
Widescreen- Resolution 5.3(Widescreen) checked.

I only listed the settings I thought were applicable.

I called Verizon Tech Support and to no surprise they had no answer as usual.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Begin by sending a text message. Click the attachment icon (paperclip), and select videos. It will ask to choose between gallery or camera. Use your camera, and this will record a video within the limits for a text message.

It doesn't work perfectly on the 2.2 stock ROM (haven't tried it on 2.3), but the CM7 version worked great. It also works independently of your settings, so you can save your stock camera settings for higher quality video.

What about recorded videos I want to send.I don't know if that would work for video I already recorded.
I'm not sure I understand, you're saying when I know I'm going to record something to first go through text/mms and select to record through there?
Sorry I sound confused on this.

For pre-recorded video, there isn't much that you can do. The Incredible isn't very friendly to people who want to send videos over MMS. In fact, I haven't seen a phone that matches the iPhone in this regard, although the SGS2 comes fairly close.

So yes, the best thing is sending a video through text that you recorded specifically for that text. It's like back in the feature-phone days where all video was of such low quality that it could be sent over mms.

Thanks Medion, again Droid does....??

Bottom line is that Android started off as a jack of all trades, master of none. Google continues to add features, but they never were good at understanding the importance of the user experience. That's where Apple excels. Apple doesn't add a feature until they can perfect it in their eyes. Google adds features as a way of checking the box (it looks good in comparisons).

For Android phones, we have to rely on OEM skins and 3rd party apps to make the UX more suited to our tastes. This gives us more flexibility as the cost of a steeper learning curve. However, HTC and Samsung have done an outstanding job with their skins, especially Samsung. Also, with ICS, it seems that Google has finally taken the UX seriously. If that's the case, kudos to them.
