Camera connection

Hi I am trying to connect my olympus camera to the note to transfer the photos to the note. I have the usb connector but the note does not see the camera nor the card is there an app that will sort this I thought the note would see the camera as an harddrive but that not the case.

I have trouble seeing external storage if I use the native My Files explorer. I can always find it using by browsing to Storage from settings, or by using the (free in Play store) ES File explorer. Maybe one of those options will work?

Does your camera allow you to change the connection mode? My canon does and the tab only sees it when in one particular mode (sorry, can't check what that is just now).

Have a look into that. I don't need to use any special app - the inbuilt gallery app just kicks in when I connect up the camera (canon eos 350d).

Yes the camera comes up with the connection screen I get 6 option none of which work, when I click storage it say one moment then goes blank but nothing on the note apart from when plug the usb lead in it say usb connected then that goes out.

Are you using OTG connection, to connect directly between camera and Note if so, from what I have read somewhere JB 4.1.2 does not recognise it OTG connection.

Yes I am using OTG but I remove the camera and plug in my thumb drive it sees that as a mass storage device which I would expect the camera to be unless the note does not recognise the the cf card in the camera. I have tried it on my decktop and thats fine so its not the cable.

Are you sure you put the camera into PTP mode before connecting it? Is it turned on when you connect it? Try connecting it when it is turned off and turn it on when connected. I used to connecy my Nikon in the past and it worked just fine.
