Help Camera fails to save pics

I made some pictures yesterday on my camera, and later on that evening when i went to view them, they never saved! I did most of my picture taking with my digital cam, but i wanted a few on thunderbolt cam as well. All i will say after this is, if your taking some important pics with the tbolt, make sure they save.

this is actually a common problem right now--just read a few problems like this over on AC Forums, many are reporting that they take pics, but aren't able to find them later.

tried using a File Manager (Astro, or ESFileExplorer) to search your SD card? people noticed that their card capacity is lower after they took pictures,so the pics were saved there.

also, people have found that this sequence works: power off, remove battery, remove card, insert card, insert battery, power on.

Also, clearing the Gallery cache has had reports of fixing the problem.

might have tried some of these and already given a shot at them-but i'm just throwing it out there for people who might read this later & wouldn't have tried these options :)

just a few suggestions

Actually all you have to do is download an app that will scan the SD card (I use SDcard Rescan). No need to take out the SD card or anything. Not sure why it does this but it seems like after you take a pic the SD card doesn't register it, re scaning the SD card will then force the pics to show up again.

Great maybe the pics are still there. I took some pics of my 2 year old daughter at a day out with thomas the train is why im so concerned about it. I took most of my pics with my digital cam, but i like to take them with my phone from time to time as well.:D

Nice... sounds like a fun time. I think the pics should still be there, let us know. :)

Thanks SKA! I was having the same problem. I downloaded the app you suggested and my pictures 'magically' appeared! I knew they had to be out there somewhere, but wasn't sure how to retrieve them. Thanks again.

phew i havent ran into this issue yet. what a great forum! read a problem, and a fix all within about 3 posts!

I had been forgetting to do this, so i finally downloaded SDrescan, an just as you said, the missing pics showed up!;) Looks like SDrescan might have to stay an remain as a tool in my toolbox of apps i keep stored on Titanium Backup save.;)

I took my oldest son to that a few years ago. He loved it! :D

I am having the same issue as the OP.

I tried this SDRescan app and it didn't work. I also installed this 3D gallery app that people say worked, which I can use to view my pictures easily but there is a small annoyance. When I click the thumbnail of the picture I just took with the camera app, I can't open the picture with EITHER gallery app.

Any further fixes or workarounds yet?
