Help Camera Firmware Update

After installing 2.2 I had thought there was to be some camera improvements, but the camera and settings are still the same after the update. When I go to Camera>Settings>Wrench Icon>Firmware Update and click the "Update" button, then "Firmware Update", I get a pop up stating "Warning: It will occur additional fee."

Has anyone else received this when trying to update the camera software? And who will be charging this fee? Tmobile?

I tried updating the firmware on the camera, ignoring the fee message. Didnt work.

As for the GPS on the camera, I dont believe there is a way to do so.

See here for how to disable geotagging. it's a pain in the ass, but I can't find any more info on it.

Yes I tried it too, it tried routing me to samsung apps, which is not available in the US, so it failed from there. Apparently only non-US 2.2 upgrades can get the camera functionality upgrades.

I don't have a problem with geotagging since I didn't accept the Google prompt at the end of the update.

runs straight to samsung apps, which in this case is useless since we dont have that here but i wonder if u can do something thru kies?

To turn off geotagging I just go to the home screen than settings > location & security and make sure that the GPS and the Wireless Location boxes are unchecked...

its stupid that you have to completely disable GPS just so the camera doesnt geotag photos.
