Help Camera Flash causing phone to lock up

mstrakt

Lurker
When I take a picture with flash enabled...the screen goes black and I have to do a battery pull. I have taken some pics w/ flash enabled with success, but most of the time it just does that black screen...freeze. Happen to anyone else?

Happened to me the first day i got my charge and Hoping that rooting and changing roms will fix it, but it didn't. I'm not sure how often this will happen because im scared to try it. Last time I took a pic with flash, the screen blacked out so i had to do a battery pull...Rebooted and BAM...i get the "process.com.google.process.gapp" error message. So as soon as that happened, I knew that I had to factory reset the ROM (that problem happened to be before, but not because of camera prob). I really dont want to factory reset again because I dont want to go through the process of everything again. Lol.. So if anyone has any advice, fixes...please, share! =).

I was also reading on other forums that maybe the SD card write speed has something to do with it? something with the SD's class. (Class 2...class 4.. etc??)

And MODS, if this is in the wrong section, sorry! please move!

Thanks! :)

I had that happen with mine.

Phone went black after taking a picture with a flash.

Only way to get the phone back up and running was a battery pull.

Now I just don't use the flash. It made the pictures look like crap anyway lol!

Turn 4G off after reading the link to the Android project page the guy mentioned the battery might not be able to keep up with the 4G battery strain and the flash at the same time.

I turned 4G off on my wifes phone and took four pictures with the flash forced on and had no issues. With 4G turned on it crashed consistently on the first picture.

Way to go Verzion and Samsung.......
