Hi
I have a Desire which is running:
Android: 2.2
Baseband: 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
Kernel: 2.6.32.15-gf5a401c
Buidl: 2.29.405.5 CL293415 Release-keys
It has been rooted using Visionary and is running the Alphrev Hboot (v0.93.1000) and the RA-desire-v2.0.0 recovery ROM. The ROM is a stock HTC Froyo.
Recently the camera flash has been going off at random intervals when I'm using the handset (which can be potentially embarrasing on a train). It generally does not seem to go off when the handset is sitting idle.
The flash does not work at all in the camera. The camera other than the flash functions fine. The "flashlight" app will not turn on/control the flash at all. There are no other problems with the phone.
The problem seems more prolific when I'm using the Kindle reader for Android (yesterday it was like a damn strobe light)
I've scanned the phone with AVG. I've restored to a stock Froyo ROM. Same problem.
I would think that if it was hardware the flash would not work at all.
Any ideas?
