Help Camera flash problems?

Wally World

Android Expert
Has anyone else noticed the flash sometimes fires too quickly goes off right before the lens captures the picture? Happens on the first picture, then it works ok after that.

Yes, I've experienced the same thing a couple of times. Like you, just the first picture, then seems to work fine.

anything in your settings that might cause it?

usually the X camera meters the ISO in low light, so if you held down the camera, it would flash for the ISO setting and then flash again for the picture. Is that what you are seeing?

Yes, the flash goes on, off quickly then on for the picture-first picture sometimes it goes off just before the shutter open/closes. I cleared the data for the camera app and it seemed to help for now.

I've had this happen before too. It's like the first time ti tries to take a pic with the flash, the shutter stalls and misses the flash. But after the first one, it works fine. Odd, but not a huge problem. I'd rather not use the flash anyways.

I agree. Good flash photography is always a challenge with point and shoots and close to impossible with the DX, I think. There's a very shallow "sweet spot" where the flash does a good job...too close and it's a wash out...too far and you may as well not use the flash. Provided you have good lighting though, I think the DX does a great job!

I was just wondering if the red button was triggering the flash incorrectly

might be worth trying the screen tap?
