Help Camera focusing issue

Dunn101

Newbie
When I am taking a picture of a picture or business card (with a business card reader), the camera focuses really nice on the screen. Then, just as it is taking the shot, it jumps out of focus, just a bit, enough to make it too blurry for the Card Reader to process it. I thought the problem was with the Reader, but now I see it do the same thing when taking a picture of a picture (the Card Reader has been uninstalled). Has anyone else noticed this and is there a fix??

This often happens because of the user touching the screen to snap the photo, causing a movement at the last minute as a result. Are you making sure to hold steady when you do that?

Hi Patrick. Yes, I'm holding it very steady. It does the same thing with the screen button or the hardware button. Everything is perfect until it snaps the picture, then it snaps out of focus. Very strange. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. Try taking a picture of another picture. Everything is great, then . . . pop and it's not.

Have you tried first pushing the shutter button only part way? This usually focuses the camera without taking the shot. Then once it is in focus, press the shutter button all the way.

Yeah. It's the strangest thing. I press the button, the focus moves in and out, the picture comes into perfect focus, then - snap -it jumps out of focus at the instant it takes the picture. I take it I'm the only lucky one who has this problem. Rats! ;-)
