Help Camera freezing issues

Hi guys

Using my Nexus 4 last night whilst out with some friends, trying to take some pictures and upon pressing the "capture button" (or whatever else you might call it), the flash comes on, and then it freezes and the picture never takes.

The only way around it is to reboot the device. Note that it will allow you to take 1 or 2 pictures first, before it starts to freeze when you take any more.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a software or hardware issue?

I had this issue yesterday, too. What I did was switch from Camera to Camcorder, and then back to Camera. That fixed it for me. I didn't have to reboot the phone.

I have no idea if it's software or hardware. Let's hope it's software because then it could be fixed with an update. :)
 
I've had that issue with the camera. Didn't knew about the cam/camcoder switching so thanks. I believe it's a software issue, I hope Google already knows about this.

I'm sure that Google is aware of this and other bugs. Hopefully they are preparing an update, as said above.

We're seeing Nexus camera and other issues reported in many forums and device monitoring sites.

Plus they read here. ;)
 
cool, thanks. Guessing it'll be resolved in the next software update - anyone have any ideas on when its due for release?
