Help Camera not working

I know there are a million gingerbread problem threads but I haven't been able to find one on my issue. I updated and now my camera app will open up but the screen freezes and I have to back out. I downloaded another camera app from the market and I can take pictures with it but I still cannot get video recording to work. Any ideas? Do I need a new droid x?

After many weeks of it bothering me that I could no longer take video or pictures with the stock app I found the solution. I did a restore and that did nothing and I was about to take it to the Verizon store and swap it for a new phone until I figured it out last night!

First remove all pictures from your phone by backing them up to a computer then delete them all off your phone.

Next go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All. Then scroll down the camera app and click on it and choose clear data. Then under the All tab again go to the Media Storage app and select clear data.

Then I did a phone restart and when it came back on the camera and video recording worked perfect!
