Help camera not working

I'm having issues with the camera on my Kyocera Rise. When I snap a photo, the shutter sound clicks, but the photo doesn't take. Instead it displays a message Could not connect to camera. It only happens sporadically. Sometimes the photo does take. Is there an explanation for this? Something I could do to prevent it, or to fix it if it happens again?

Not sure. I had a lot of issues wehre the camera would freeze the entier phone for a minute or two, but not that. Is there any commonality between instances?

Reformat or use a different sd card given the camera is tied to it and forementioned equates in something being corrupted on the sd card itself.Current one that is and as for preventing cant say as its embedded within one of the files you downloaded prior. Also keep in mind sd cards degrade over time

It was the SD card. I replaced it and now no issues.

I'm afraid the old SD card was damaged. When I plugged my phone into the computer, it did not recognize it. Same when I tried the card in a card reader. Are all of my photos lost?

Potentially. I'm RMA'ing my SD card right now myself- I recommend you go into the Google+ app, even if you don't use it, and enable auto backup. Its handy when this happens. My SD went bad but still intermittently works, so keep trying it.

Been through this also, the auto backup is incredible! Really easy to fix it if this happens. Had a card go bad a few months ago and now it's starting to act weird very intermittently. I should probably not buy them from bargain bins all the time but it's just so tempting when they are like $6.00 for a 16gb. LOL!
