Camera problem

Hi all, I've been experiencing this problem with the original camera app only recently. It seems that the photos taken turn out way darker than what it appears on the screen. The instagram app does not have this problem, only the original camera app. I've tried clearing cache for the app but the problem persists. Any idea how to solve it apart from a factory reset? (My note is not rooted and I haven't made any significant modifications to the settings as far as I can remember.)

Do you have any of the color options on? like sepia or something?

You can check by going into the camera options, right above the Record button, clicking on that will expand it then click on the 3 Vertical Dots, one in there see if the Color effect is on something. <None> should be the default.

Do ALL of your pictures turn out darker? Or is it only when you're in low light condition?
