camera quality

Two images attached are of my memory card, i wear glasses so decided i could "zoom in" to see what class it is! anyway, my photo (taken with my x10i) is the blurry one, the other was taken with my wife's HTC desire.
X10 is set to single auto focus on 8.1M quality setting
HTC is on standard photo setting with 5.1 camera.

So why is my picture a mess compared to a l'esser' phone camera???

I'd like Sony to answer this one too. The camera is another awful aspect of this phone I'm afriad. I've given up using it. Not one in focus picture, and basically un-usable in anything darker than bright daylight.

I have reverted to my 'old/lesser' K800i phone and using the 3.2 mp cam for far far superior pictures to the x10i. :rolleyes: :(:(:(
 
I have found the pictures improve if you adjust the white balance, but it doesn't remember your setting so you have to do it every time which is a pain.

Also because the camera button is so solid its not that easy to press it all the way in to take the snap without moving the phone and getting blurry pics. Tried doing the touch screen to take pictures but I find that more awkward. I have kind of got used to mine now and produce some good indoor shots, but there are still lots that go straight to the trash can.

I think on the SE shot above you may have been better moving the camera closer and using macro to take a close up rather than using the zoom, but that's not based on anything particularly technical - just my personal experience.
 
Other than in dim lighting I am very happy with my picutre quality. It's true that the button takes some getting used to. My wife has to use touch capture or her's are blurry.
