Is there a way to make it so i can actually take the picture with a Hard buttion, (ie volume up or down) instead of the touch screen?

Based on what people have said about that app, it looks possible, but remember that it will remap the button for that purpose only. If you change volume down, for example, it will no longer be able to change the volume. Are you willing to give that up just for a camera button? A better idea would be to find a third-party camera app that uses the volume buttons as a camera button once the app is open. Unfortunately, I have no idea if such an app exists.

I agree completely, the problem is the forward camera has terrible resolution and taking a picture of yourself is a pain with the button on the touch screen.

looks like some digging is required i will post an update if i find anything.
 
i use them all ...each offer a little bit different options. start with vignette the free version..if you like it buy it.

camera 360 is pretty neat...and takes great pics

photo fun is kind of silly and low res

retro cam is alot of fun...focus doesn't really work well.
 
HTC EVO rooted. Is there anyway to set the camera/camcorder to take photos and videos by selecting one of the up/down volume keys as the click button?
