Camera question

The only thing that's keeping me from upgrading to a Galaxy Reverb is the camera. I've seen some reviews that say it's ok and others that say it's horrible. Is it really that bad of a camera? I don't take a bunch of pics but it is nice to have a decent camera if needed. I've been debating between the Reverb and Optimus Elite, but I was leaning toward the Reverb due to ICS.

its not an amazing camera that everyone should praise and kiss and love....
it works... people who post about issues dont know what settings are... they tend to just use 'auto'... if you know your way around exposure, white balance, focus, this camera works fine... but dont expect some crazy dslr stuff...
here are a few pics i took within the past 2 weeks...

@davidmargolin,

Those are some really good pictures =). I was just about to make a thread on this subject(and will). The camera is great, it's the settings that are holding it back(mainly it's sharpening, it brings out a lot of halos when video recording)and the bitrate needs to be higher for better quality recordings. Check out this video I edited, I rushed it but I used the Reverb to record it. Looks pretty good and can be better, but I need to find a way to increase the settings within the root directory of the phone. Reverb Test - YouTube

my reverb takes pretty good quality pics (compared to my old HTC one v) with fairly accurate color and decent sharpness. only thing i don't like is the shutter speed is very slow.

As far as cell phone cameras go, it isn't bad. Samsung has the same problem/approach with all of their cell phone cameras and point/shoot cameras; oversharpening that can't be turned off. This accentuates the noise and results in a halo around everything. It must be some kind of corporate decision because the over sharpening applies to their photo equipment as well which is why the more knowledgeable consumers avoid it and it does not sell well and is bashed on the photo forums. Samsung cameras always have a great looking design and over sharpened pictures with lots of artifacts. The reverb camera is "fair" as long as you don't look too close, over sharpened and very limited dynamic range that blows the highlights. I've had worse though.
