Help camera shutter sound

I own the original droid and wanted to know if you can turn off the shutter sound when taking a picture? I can't seem to find a setting to do this.

Thanks,
Steven

The volume for your camera shutter is incorporated into the system volume. I use audio manager to control each individual volume settings. Turn system volume off to get rid of the shutter volume. Though if you get system notification, you won't hear it XD

Has anyone come up with a better way yet to disable the camera sound effects? I tried doing this with tasker, but it isn't correctly detecting when the camera app is running (I was going to have Tasker mute the ring volume when the app is open).

Did you try the system volume, that was what control the camera volume for my Nexus One.

There is no option for that on the Motorola Droid 1. Im still looking for another way to silence the shutter without having to shut off my phones sounds. I forget to turn the sound back on and then I miss calls or messages.

Thanks.

I know there are a few apps on the market that does this :) Just don't remember the names XD

If you are rooted you can disable the shutter sound and still have the volumes turned up...I don't remember what file you have to delete but I can find it for you if you are rooted...
