Camera - silent mode?

I want to disable the shutter 'click' sound on my phone.

I remember on either a previous Android or an earlier version of this, there was a silent option, but I can't see it now in camera settings.

I have Android 9 on my J7 Pro.

You can use a third party camera app, or turn down the volume on the smartphone.

yep according to this article at the time you had to have the camera sound....which i never heard of this law.

i think that has changed now as i can turn my note 10+ camera sound on or off.

Try putting the phone in do-not-disturb/silent mode. That mutes the camera shutter sound on phones I've had.

It must be a national thing: I've never owned a device where you can't turn it off, but I have heard of it from others.
