You have to mute all the sounds on the phone or you can root the phone.

depending on the carrier, you can go into the settings menu on the camera and change the shutter sound to On/Off. It has nothing to do with the phone volume.

I can only speak for sprint and I know there is no camera sound option. The method I described works on the sprint variant of GN3.

If I'm not mistaken they passed a law that makes it a requirement for cell camera's to make a sound. In the US anyway.

Root makes anything possible...

Veritas4420... Which carrier are you on that allows the option to turn off the sound? Just curious.

I am on Verizon and did not see an option to turn the sound off...
