Have you updated to GB or are you still on FroYo?

I don't think you can turn it off on FroYo without a 3rd party app.
Regardless of that, I'm rather annoyed that I need the update to solve this trivial issue. Mobile phones have been manufactured for going on 15 years now. Android is in its umpteenth cycle. This is a simple option which everyone wants. I'm wondering what other irritating 'features' I'll find while the phone's still in its money back period...
Actually you could turn it off on Froyo...I had mine off out of the box. My wife had hers on.
Haha... we'll see.
On the Hero, the 2.1 update came out almost 6 months after it was promised. I won't hold my breath.

When you open the camera, before taking a picture, turn down the volume.
No that just zooms in and out.

Many argue that this is a SECURITY feature to keep you from taking pictures where you are not supposed to.
