Camera sounds stay the same after replacing files

I'm rooted and have changed a few sound effects. For the camera and video camera I have replaced the files with a blank .ogg file and it's worked fine for the video camera, but the camera still plays the original sounds (camera_click and camera_focus).

I've cleared the data of the camera and restarted but still no luck. What on earth is going on?!

If you tell us the phone and carrier you are using we will move your thread to the all things root sub-forum dedicated to your phone.

On my Galaxy Ace,inside the camera apps settings, you can switch off the Camera sounds. You have to dig down in the settings a bit but it's there.

HTH :)

I'm using an Ace 2.

Yep, I've rebooted and also had a look in the settings. I used to be able to turn it off on my old phone but not this one.

I've gone back and checked the files and they play as blank files, as do the video camera sounds. But the camera still makes the focus and shutter sounds.

Could they be buried inside the app or something? I've searched the phone but no other files with those names exist.

Problem solved. There's 2 files for each sound both with different names and I'd only changed the one that the camera wasn't using.

Thanks for the replies.

Great thread, would not read again though.
