Help camera sounds

I have an unrooted 4.1.2 virgin mobil Samsung galaxy victory phone.Unlike my beloved optimus v,i can't seem to take pictures without the shutter sounding out.Do I need to download something or is there something i'm missing?

It's probably just the camera app that's forcing this...there should be lots of camera apps on the Play Store that you could try that do not make the shutter sounds.

I don't have a SG Victory so I can't check anything for you...want me to move your thread to the AF SG Victory area for you in case someone else has experienced this?

BTW, I've heard that in some countries (and states, maybe?) you're not allowed (or it's illegal) to turn off the camera (shutter) sounds--urban legend/myth perhaps? Seems bit hard to enforce given how there's cameras in everything now.

I believe it's illegal not to have a shutter sound in Japan...

On all Samsungs I've owned, simply toggle the entire phone to silent mode.

There is much truth to that.I've read up abt invading prvacies,and pistibg pictures w/out authorization.Some countries do not allow cameras to be quiet
