Root Camera & Video is not Supporting on CM 7.2. What could be the reason..?

Hi,
Recently I rooted my HTC Wildfire s, and Installed CM 7.2. It was working fine but now I am facing a lot of bugs on it. Camera is not taking videos and other video files are not supported (like .mp4, .avi, .3gp). Says could not open the file.
Also Youtube is not working. (I already know that while installing).
Even found suitable convertor (Handbrake) for HTC Wildfire S, converted the video but not running.

Here i found the Link for the convertor :

How to convert videos and transfer them to the HTC Wildfire S - Know Your Cell

anybody knows how to run it..?

Now I'm thinking to go back to HTC Stock/Custom ROM since i don't want to compromise on features. When we upgrade the software the features should increase not be decreased.

I think this ROM would be ideal for my device. Any suggestions or feed backs would be more helpful....

Thanks a lot...

I just downloaded Handbrake and am busy converting a video at the moment, so I can't report on how it worked yet. The version you download now, though, is a bit different from that on the guide, so it is not possible to follow the instructions exactly.

However, you can get YouTube working: just look at my post http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s-all-things-root/573036-getting-youtube-work-latest-cm-7-2-a.html

I am confident that my WFS is working properly in every respect running CM 7.2

Hi,

Goog evg!!

Finally my heartful and wonderful thanks to DisciplexOne, for providing this wonderful ROM !!!

I used to have CyanogenMod 7.2 for the last couple of weeks. It LOOKED like the best one. But slowly day by day I started feeling frustrated, where many features are not coming good.

So I decided to wait for some more months or a year to get a "Problem and bug free CyanogenMod 7 or 9" and now back to this one.

Now I feel(Back to Home), Got back the same HTC ROM with "MORE POWER" than the Original. This is what i was expecting to.....

It works perfect with more extended features. 106 MB is free now(After PRE-INSTALLED, Can't believe). Drop down menus are excellent. Link2sd is installed. More options on the 'power off/reboot' menu. Camera/video/Youtube/USB tethering and Internet Pass through are no problem.

More PRE-INSTALLED apps are like No-Frills CPU(Now Overclocked 806Mhz & FINE), SuSuper, Busybox, ROM Manager, GMail, ESFile Explorer, Root Explorer, Flash Player, Dolphin Browser, HTC Hub, HTC Likes, ICS Keyboard, WiFiKill and Youtube, etc...

With power+home capturing.....(see previews pics)

I was thinking overclocking would work perfect with CM only.

Now I'm becoming slowly pro in this area,
since LOT of VE's (VIRTUAL ENGINEER'S) are RESIDING HERE and guiding EVERYBODY on the right track... welldone "PHANDROID" for this support.

I Thank Caro, Slimchance [also CafeKampuchia's Guide] who are guided me to learn lot into this level....

Thanks again.

Yes, I'm really happy now that after I moved to this ROM from CM7.2, Since I've got some issues with CM7.2 (Camera, BT Restart, Youtube and Video).

This one is the Perfect & best ROM giving more privileges than the Original HTC Sense ROM.

Anyway thanks for Suggesting Disciplexone ROM.....

Excellent! Lots of internal memory, good Antutu score. What more could you want?:thumb:

Now i feel something bad of this ROM. The phone doesn't wake up instantly from a long idle when i press power button. I have to wait for some time (more than 10 secs) to follow my requests. (For ex : To call some one or run any apps, etc...).

Any solution for this isssssssssssssue.......

Update: Successfully updated to CyanogenMod 9 Alpha 7.
(After dissatisfaction with all ROMs, now moved one step ahead)
Hope more feed backs or questions...??!!

Wow - I'd be very interested in how you get on with CM9. Does everything work OK?

Does great. I don't believe that my phone runs on Android 4.0.4 !!!

I would recommend you to try this once.
can feel the difference. I'm still learning of the utility's...... As of now Link2sd alone installed.

Thanks to Caro for suggesting this!.:):vroam:

Dealbreaker for me, then :(

Hi,
First of all: I love the boot animation. It's Excellence (Doesn't matter ....right?)

WiFi - No Problem (Works)
camera - snaps ok, video - fail.(expecting updates!)
video - Audio plays but Video playback strugles.
GPS - I would say 'Yes' because Google Maps shows the correct locality on the move. Actually I thought Navigator is not installed (But it's there, cause i'm one day old then, and now Navigator seems to be not responding) and Maps showed the progress while i drive my car for at least 60 kms...(I'll go on this further)

According to me, I used to have CM7.2 also but I would say....
It's more than viable to CM7.2 and also, I feel It looks more elegant, user friendly, stylish and good screen graphics.

This is my perception.....

(Infact, I was thinking to go for RobotoMOD - Xena (AOKP & CM9) Dual ROM v1.0.1 with OTA update, then dropped it)

The problems with cm7 is in the kernel. For example, the hardware video acceleration isn't working yet, thus laggy video. You can get around that by using a video player that offers a software codec for the arm6 processor, like Mobo. I'm working on a new kernel to address these issues for BACKfire. Any non Sense based rom on the CDMA WFS is going to share these issues.
