Help Camera

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. AT&T is my carrier.
I bought this phone in November 2012. Now, in May 2013, the camera does not work. When I touch the icon to take a picture, as any person would, the app opens with no buttons i.e., no shutter button, no settings icon, etc.
You then cannot get out of the app.
Help!!!!!!!

Have you tried going into app settings and clearing cache and data, then reboot, then try the camera app ??

If that does not work, try downloading a different camera app from the Play store and see what happens and report back.

I did exactly what you said and the camera began working. I did not have to get another camera app. Thank you so much.

Yep.. with several of the oft used and "bigger" apps/widgets in these things it is best to do some routine maintenance from time to time. Any social networking app, email apps, the camera, etc... reconfiguring them now and then after clearing cache and data in Application Manager is preferable to thinking they're broken because some functionality has changed or stopped.
