Help Can a user change the battery?

Hi all,

I am thinking about buying a Samsung galaxy s2 (or the future s3) when my contract is up. My question is: Can a user change its battery?

I do hope the answer is yes, unlike the iphone.
 
This varies from phone to phone, but it that is something you really want, there are plenty of Android options for you.

Simply because he mentioned the SGSIII or other future phones where we don't necessarily know if the battery is removable yet.

Hi there. I do. I play games, I use my phone a lot, and I don't want to turn off wireless and bluetooth. AND I have (boo) the 2.3.6 operating system; all this means that I drain my battery a great deal. I have two spares and I change my battery at least once a day. The back cover is really cool to pop off and put back on and the whole thing's a breeze.

The only problem I ever encountered was to forget to turn my phone back on after changing the battery :-)
 
My confidence isn't too high yet on S3 having a removable battery until we see actual specs. HTC has a few phones that have switched to non-removable batteries and a new Sony will be the same way. I really hope this is not the future of phones unless the batteries are at least 2500mah or there are some major accomplishments made to extend the battery life on the OS.

Exactly, and the fourth generation Droid switched to a non-removable battery. Until specs are released, you can't say for sure.
