Root can anyone confirm if the evo 4g can change mac address?

i'm running a rooted app that is supposed to change my mac address, but it doesn't seem like it actually is. i unfortunately have no direct way to check (my pc doesn't have wireless)

is anyone able to confirm if they've been able to change their mac address on their rooted evo 4g?
