can anyone help me? ive bricked my s2!

my galaxy s2 is completly bricked. it wont turn on, or go into recovery mode/download mode.

i sent it to a guy to fix it, and he could access it via odin.

he has tryed all the operating systems, but any legal ones from a trsuted site, he cant get to work.

are there any os's i can try?

what would you sugest?

please help me!!!

If he can see the phone through odin, then that means you CAN get into download mode.
Where have you been looking on for these "official" firmwares?

Your best bet is to download one from SamMobile.com and flash via Odin

the mobile itself is 100% dead.
i have no idea what he was doing to it,
but he told me he has tried all the legal operating systems and things for it via odin, without going to any untrustworthy sites.

i have no idea how to fix it, but am willing to try anything now.

would samsung repair centre be able to do anything?

they charge

See Hawker's reply in post #2!

If your phone can be read by Odin it must be able to get into Download mode, therefore it is NOT bricked and flashing a stock, Samsung, firmware to it is a relatively easy procedure as described in #1.7, here.

the mobile device will not turn on at all.

i have no idea what the repair guy was doing, but he said it can see the files via odin, with it pluged in to pc. the mobile wont turn on into download, recovery, or power up at all.

I would ask him, as there's no way to "see the files" if the device won't power up. Especially using Odin, which is merely a flashing tool and doesn't have a file manager to "see" files" in any case.

If he's somehow been able to get it into download mode (by using a USB jig, for example) and flashing a fresh Samsung firmware for the GT-i9100 won't work, then your only recourse is probably to have Samsung themselves look at it.

i don't know for definate if he could see the files, but he has tryed lots of patches and roms, none of which succesfully flashed to the mobile.

how do jigs work? he hasnt tried that at all.

if all else fails,

would samsung repair centre be able to fix it? and how much would that cost?

thanks for your time to reply.

In that case it's probably DOA, then.

A USB 'plug' with the correct resistance across specific pins triggers the handset into download mode.

The answer to the first question is "almost certainly", but I can't answer the second.

Something you haven't described is how this occurred. If it was out of the blue, in the course of normal use, and the handset is less than two years old, then it should be covered by Samsung's own hardware warranty.

i was flashing the aokp 4.1.0 rom onto it, and it crashed half way through it.

what is DOA?

also, the mobile is second hand, and around 2 years old. i dont think there is any waranty for it.

Daft question but are you sure the battery is charged, if you plug it in the charger do you see anything ?

It may be worth pulling the battery for 5 mins or so and then putting it back and leave it on charge for an hour then try to boot into download

If somebody else has been able to try "patches and ROMS" as suggested it can be got into download mode

i have bought a jig, but my mobile wont connect to pc, or turn on in any way, so i dont know if that would work.

thanks for moving the topic slug :)

quick question, off topic,

a replacement for a short while,
