Help Can evo batteries be charged too much?

My phone battery seems to drop a notch not long after i take it off the charger and just keeps dropping all day(It's 8:01 am and i took it off the charger @ 7:22am) and did barely anything with it.I plug it into the charger many times throughout the day otherwise it would die and be useless to me and im wondering if this could harm the battery.I thought i read something that these batteries can not be overcharged...Im not sure though.I am using a task killer set to kill tasks everytime the screen shuts off.I tried no task manager for a day and my phone only lasted a few hours..I also am using all the battery saving tips...Could it be a defective battery?

*Ive had both samsung moment and htc evo so i know the android system in general seems to eat the batteries but im just wondering why with the evo it seems to be happening so fast.

Could be the task task manager. Its a hot topic but android 2.1 and up is pretty efficient at stopping apps and they just stay cached in the background. With a task killer shutting things down everytime your screen goes off your phone is just pulling double duty. I used to use a task killer and it was tough to break the habit but it was worth it, imo. Maybe its another app causing the drain. Have you downloaded spareparts and checked what your partial wake usage is?

THIS is your problem. Task killers are not needed, and only make your battery worse. Uninstall it, and I bet you in a day or so your battery will be back to normal.

Lithium ion batteries cannot be overcharged. However, like all batteries, they do have a limited charge/discharge number. Normally, this is around 1000, but I've had some phones where the battery dies after 200-300 charge cycles. So, keeping this in mind, its better to only charge it once or twice a day, rather than plugging it in every chance you get for a few minutes at a time.

I don't think its the tsk killer. I was getting horrible battery then installed atk my battery will last all day on standby now. How is your phone pulling double duty if it's shutting down programs?

I think you should uninstall Task Killer, then Power Off then Turn your phone back on:

Then follow this:

Tell me how it works out for you.

Task killers are not needed in Android.

How is your phone pulling double duty if it's shutting down programs?

If you read that link, it will explain it in more detail. But basically, Android, unlike Windows, likes to keep its memory (ram) full of apps, so if you load one of those apps, it loads quickly. This has NO affect on how fast the phone runs, or how much battery is uses, as these programs are just cached, and are NOT running at all.

When you use a task killer, you kill those apps, which takes battery. Then the OS recognizes that it's memory is empty, so it will begin loading apps back up to fill it up. Do you notice how every time you kill apps, a few minutes later they are back in the memory? This is why the phone is doing double duty.

Task killers are useless. The best app to use is Juice Defender/Ultimate Juice as a battery saver. Take the task killers off.

Do you have your task killer set up with the notification guy always sitting in the notification bar? Turn that option off

Use the system menu (menu.about phone.battery.what has been using the battery I think) and see what is listed. Check your sleep vs awake time and dload spare parts and check partial wake usage.
