Root Can gingerbread use Z4

hi im new to rooting although i use to jailbreak ipods that was an easy process for me once i learned i read the rooting for dumiies guide and i know i cant root my evo cuz of stupid gingerbread but cna i use z4 to temp root

Welcome to AF!!! If I'm not mistaken, apps like Z4 Root, Visionary, and Gingerbreak, will not give you temp root if you've accepted the latest OTA. No worries though, you'll be able to obtain full root soon enough; the Dev's are hard at work on this.
