Can google voice ring differently?

So I would like for my Google Voice number to ring differently than my regular carrier number. I give out the GV number for business use and my regular one for personal/friend use.

So does anyone know if it's possible to have a separate ringtone? I see under the GV settings area "Sync and notfications - Select Ringtone" but it doesn't appear to work when I call the number. Any ideas?

(I'm on android 2.1 if that matters.)

Add your GV number to your contacts and then assign whatever ringtone you want.

This will work, but you need another step

Add the contact to your phone and set the ringtone

Then go to google.com/voice on your computer. Under settings -> Calls -> Caller ID (incoming) -> change it to "Display my Google Voice number"

Then when someone calls your GV number it will display your GV number as the caller ID and play your ringtone, problem is it won't display the caller's number if you need that

Thanks for the input folks! I can see what you're talking about with the above technique but it's not exactly what I was looking for. Guess there's just no way to get it to ring differently like I want. Oh well it's not the end of the world.

I would assume he doesn't want to lose the caller ID functionality, which he clearly would with these steps.

Correct. I would like for the phone to see that the incoming call was to the Google voice number (instead of my personal number) and ring a certain way but still allow me to see the incoming phone number.

But that's just not possible so oh well!

Still new to this but couldn't you assign the business contacts to a group and set a particular ringtone to that group. Or go at it from the other angle and add the people who have your personal number to a group and give that group it's own ringtone?
