Root Can I delete old .zip files on SD card?

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to ROMs and Android, but can I delete a .zip file of an older ROM off of my SD Card? I don't see any need for it to be there still, but I don't want to mess anything up.
 
You sure can. I always leave the ROM that I'm currently running on my card but delete the older one.
