Help Can I delete OTA update?

TheTrueSpin

Hi. My phone downloaded 4.1.2 but I do not want to install it because all my android update experiences have been terrible and made my phones worse, not better. Is there any way to delete tge downloaded file? Im also worried because the download was interrupted about three times during the download and I worry there is a danger the file is corrupted. Not rooted.

I did a factory reset and that deleted it. I love my battery life on the note 2 and it seems 4.1.2 really messes this up.

Just for future reference, you could just delete/clear the cache partition in the device without the need to resort to a factory reset. Then make sure the auto update is unchecked.

Nope. You can do this on a stock ROM. I do this on the odd occassion and not rooted. You need to access the Android Recovery Console. This mmethod clears out and wipes the entire cache partition. Refer to my post (#6) on instructions to get into the Android Recovery Console.

Just follow true first 5 steps (unless you are looking to do another factory reset).

There is an option to wipe the cache. Scroll to it and select it. Wait for it to finish and then reboot the device.

HTH.
