Help Can I get insurance?

Receiving an Alltel Desire in a couple of days that I bought second hand.

Does anyone know if I can get product insurance (damage, mechanical failure, loss / theft, etc) directly from Alltel for the device, or is there a company that provides such for second-hand purchases of used phones?

There are a few second tier insureres that will take any phone like these guys. then there's SquareTrade, which is a little different. I've never used either and I'm not suggesting you do. I can't see that insuring a older model used phone being worth insurance, many would question the worth in insuring new devices. If I buy insurance at all, I never keep it past 1yr max. Check out the replacement price on ebay then figure the monthly cost, deductible and there has to be some delay in coverage for a used model along with the units depreciation. I wouldn't be surprised if the cost of insurance exceeds the value of the device in a very short time.
