can i go from leak v1 to leak v3?

How do I go from 2.1 ver 1 to 2.1 v3 leak on eris?? If this is already stated somewhere, I couldnt find it. If you know, or can reply with a link for me, it would be greatly appreciated !
 
Yup, I've gone from Leak 1, 2, and now I'm on 3. Considering 3 is 99.99% the same as the OTA, I'd update to v3 asap.
 
Thanks everybody...How do I get rid of version one off of this phone ?? Is there a step by step process already done for this ?
 
Go ahead and delete the img file off of your sd card. Then download the v3. (just so you know which is which) Go through the update process again.
I don't think out is necessary to delete the old img file but I always do.
 
And just in case you mean how do you get the v1 ROM off of your phone, you simply install v3 and it overwrites v1.
 
I go to mount my phone to pc, and, only charge and htc sync options appear. no mount phone option .
and, in settings, phone sd storage, phone appears to be unmounted, with only the option to format( erase) sd card appears ! anybody familiar with this to get the mount option back ?
 
cool. auto mount has allowed me to see the contents on phone. i see pb100img.zip, that is the original leak one. so , what i am understanding is, to , delete PB100img.zip and replace it with the v3. where again do i find v3? just want to make sure i got the right one ! and then put it in place of PB100.zip and then, disconnect phone from pc, and hit vol down and power, and follow from there, right ???? i super appreciate the help !! and will pass along any help to fellow eris leakers for sure !
 
You will have to download from a link on this forum. Search v3 download, you should be able to find the link. I am currently on my phone so I don't think i can post a link with it.

not sure what PB100img.zip is - but its called PB00IMG.zip, provided you delete the v1 from your SD card, then put the v3 on the SD card and make sure its named PB00IMG.zip, yes you can install it like you said, volume down power button follow prompts.
 
JShizzy, and everybody else who has contributed, you all rock !!! Thank you for your help. I clicked on this v3 link. under download, there are mirror 1, mirror 2, mirror 3. is there a difference in which one you download and install ???
 
when ever I come across several mirrors I just start at number 1 and keep trying till I find one that works. I believe those are just different file uploading sites
 
Yes, upon closer review, the leaked version one file on my phone is PB100IMG.zip. so, when i go to the leaked version 3, mirror two, that downloads as file also named PB100IMG.zip. I am keeping the name the same, and just basically swap them out ! Any other potential pitfalls to avoid ??
 
tishyrae, no, seems as this file, whichever version we may have, are all named the same name. that would explain why people have mentioned not to rename the file . I had read your posts, and you and I are in the identical situation. I am gonna do it. I think I have all steps worked out now. This post might help you too. Are you ready ?
 
Ha! Not sure what to do...my husband sent me the leak link and I just followed it thinking it was the REAL update..so now here I am...LOL...I would stay with v2 but my phone is very laggy and the battery life SUCKS again.
 
yeah just gotta download the new version but first I erase the previous. it will not hurt your phone to delete the old file before you install v3
