Root Can I root a v2.1 eris?

This eris was purchased with v1.5 and updated to OTA 2.1 this summer. I read this thread "Can I root my Eris" and could not power down my eris to see the boot loader version. I tried holding the right button for 10 seconds but no dice.

Any way, I have the 2.1 OTA and considering rooting my eris because I want to be able to wireless tether.

The one click root method will work fine.

Yes, you can root. I had the 2.1 OTA and rooted mine and my wife's phones about 1 month and a half ago. I used the Universal 1 click method and it worked perfectly. Loaded my first ROM over the weekend. Just go for it. Makes the phone worlds better.
