Root Can I Root my Samsung Galaxy y?????

I have samsung Galaxy younggingerbread jpkk2 , Android Version 2.3.6 , Kernel Version 2.6.35.7 root@DELL132#1
shall i need to root phone? ​

try to find application in your phone "superuser"
if you cant see it.youre not rooted!

rooting is putting ur cp beyond its limit..don't root the phone if you are "NETWORK LOCK"

REQUIREMENTS
"UPDATE.ZIP" FILE
DOWNLOAD THE ATTACHED FILE..


STEPS'
1.COPY THE "UPDATE.ZIP" FILE DIRECTLY ON YOUR SD CARD(NOT IN ANY FOLDER)
2.TURN OFF YOUR PHONE(WAIT TIL VIBRATE ENDS)
3.GO TO RECOVERY MODE(PRESS THE VOLUME UP KEY BUTTON,HOME KEY AND THE POWER BUTTON KEY SIMULTANEOUSLY)
4.RELEASE THE KEYS IF YOU SEE THE SAMSUNG LOGO
5.SELECT "APPLY UPDATE FROM SD CARD"
6.CHOOSE THE "UPDATE.ZIP" FILE
7.IF YOU SEE "INSTALLATION COMPLETE"
8.SELECT REBOOT SYSTEM NOW.

AFTER BOOTING YOU'LL NOTICE THAT THERE IS A APPLICATION NAMED "SUPER USER"

THATS IT..CONGRATZ!
ROOTING IS NOT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF YOU FOLLOW THE STEPS CAREFULLY..

can you help me about this i have also samsung Galaxy Gio Rooted with link2sd mistaknly pressed convert to user application on message application and after that my message application completely removed from my cell :( how to restore this application i have done Factory Reset but but im failed help me about this please

did you factory reset on settings or in recovery mode?

just give me full details so that i can help you.

i am totaly new to dis...:( ..wot i really want to ask is that plz explain in detail
the use of super user...
i am confused dat super user has to be downloaded b4 we root the device or not..
den wot is the use of super user after we have rooted the device..
am confused abt the use of super user basicaly..
plz help me bro....thanx..:) :D
